my hubby had my ring custom made and gave it to me as a real suprise….he knows I don’t care for diamonds except as accent stones and I put a high value on sentimentality as opposed to money value so….

my engagement ring is his birthstone, a garnet and mine, a peridot, both heart shaped, in a twist yellow gold setting with a swirl of seven round diamonds between them….beautiful, different, and full of meaning-he told me the seven diamonds stand for the seven days of the week, and he had I Love You inscribed on the inside….I adore it.

Now to put it in proper perspective the engagement ring from my first marriage, 34 years ago, was a high end 2 carat pear shaped solitaire set in platinium…..I really didn’t want a diamond but that was ‘the thing’ so I went with it…turns out it worked out well ’cause when he walked out on me that ring fed my kids and paid the bills ’till I got employment thre weeks later….

My current ring…I’d run into a burning building to retrieve it…not because of it’s resale value, but the sentimentality behind it…and yes it’s exactly what I would have selected for myself….swear my guy has ESP lol….

My fiance picked the ring, it was a surprise. It is traditional with a princess cut center diamond, one round diamond on each side and bagets going down on either side of the round stone. I like traditional engagment rings so it’s perfect for me. It is yellow gold and I wish it was white, but it is so special because it was a gift from his heart so I wouldn’t want anything else. If you both like the ring you got for her then that’s great, but that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with traditional style rings.

I like mine – I don’t have one, Don’t want one.
We are having our wedding bands made to our own design by a goldsmith in a different country. This as she is the younger sister of one of my SO’s friends.
It will hold no diamonds as I think diamonds, though expensive, are common, everybody has them.

My engagement ring is all white diamonds and my wedding bands are 2 black diamond channel set bands, one on each side. I love black diamonds!

I THINK SOLITAIRE ENGAGEMENT RINGS ARE LAME BECAUSE THEY ARE SO COMMON AND PREDICTABLE. I REALLY DESPISE PRINCESS CUTS!

My first wedding ring was a sapphire and diamond wrap thing that is very pretty, but was also very trendy at the time of the purchase. I look at it now and think that anyone who knows jewelry would know exactly what era it came from.

Being (a lot) older now I realize the value of timelessness and while my ring isn’t a plain solitaire, it’s a design that’s been around for eons and will continue to be around for eons more. I want to love it as much in 30 years as I love it today, and not just because of its symbolism. My ring looks very like my mother’s, which is probably one reason I chose it. The e-ring is a five-stone ring, with a larger center stone, and the wedding band is a five-stone ring with all the stones the same size.

I got a 3 stone ring in yellow gold with round diamonds. It’s very pretty. I wanted a 3 stone because 3 is my favorite number. My fiance and I went ring shopping together a couple years ago so he would have an idea of the styles I like, but he picked out the specific ring himself.

I got something that’s extraordinary – I’ve never seen one like it and it is amazing. Mine is antique style but with a bit of modernness to it. It’s marquis cut with 70+ diamonds around in on every place you can see.

i feel the same way diamonds are pretty common.. most girls will end up with one on their finger..

I ended up picking out my engagement ring.. and went with a tanzanite stone..

its custom made.. so i’m the only girl in the entire world with this ring..
so yes it makes me feel all special
